Yesterday we reported that the Maryland Board of Physicians was charging errant and prodigious stent-placing Baltimore cardiologist Mark G. Midei with various infractions which could lead to action against his license. We have obtained a copy of the charging document which you can read below. Citing the treatment of 5 specific patients, their conclusions is:
The Respondent’s treatment of Patients A, B, C, D and E in whole or in part, unprofessional conduct in the practice of medicine, in violation of H.O. § 140404(a)(3)(ii), willfully making a false report or record in the practice of medicine, in violation of H.O. § 14-404(11), gross over utilization of health care services, in violation of H.O. § 14-404(a)(19), violations of the standard of quality care, in violation of H.O. § 14-404(a)(22) and failure to maintain adequate medical records, in violation of H.O. § 14-404(a)(40).
