“The students at MSU have been insurmountably harmed to a degree that is immeasurable by this agency,” said the motion approved by the board. “The actions of Mountain State University today are inexcusable and defenseless.”
And there are restrictions on the school. MSU is not allowed to enroll any new nursing students, must eliminate any references to pursuing a nursing degree at MSU from their website/publications, must continue to provide the board with progress reports about changes at the school, and must “diligently work with” students looking to transfer to another college.
The board placed MSU’s nursing program on provisional accreditation in November 2010, citing the school for a lack of administrative leadership, insufficient learning opportunities, loss of national nursing accreditation, failing to make required changes to course curriculum and failing to keep up-to-date student records regarding classes and their degree progress.
